E85 Top Down Side Covers.

Thought I'd found a set a few weeks ago on Gumtree!
Agreed price, seller didn't do PayPal so I offered bank transfer(risky I know) recieved one word message the following day "SOLD". :headbang:
Not even an apology to say he had accepted another offer!!

There's a user on here selling some £180+ postage.

I can't believe no one has 3d printed/manufactured replica's yet. They'd make an absolute fortune.

I used to have some, brand new. They felt very flimsy, almost like cheap Chinese plastic. I ended up selling them on because they are simply pointless.

Crikey I never realised they would be so expensive, I take it not available (or to expensive) from BMW? be cheaper to make some a la Blue Peter style

My detailer has asked me to put my car on his stand at a couple of local shows he's doing, it would be nice to have them for things like that, not sure I'd use them whilst driving!

The reason I want a set is to get them 3D scanned, so i dont even need a pefect set, they can have scratches etc because I can fix the model before sending it to be printed.

The thing with them is if you forget to remove them and raise the roof, they fly off. Because they are so expensive, you don't want to leave them on the car when you leave it at shows, because they are very easy to nick.
I prefer the manly looking gaps and don't want a set

People are too busy laughing at your dash to notice your gaps Fred :poke:

They do indeed pop off when you put the roof up, sometimes breaking the cover by leaving the latch bit in situ. Not me of course - someone I know!

Don't you know a carpenter who could knock you up a couple to match the interior. I feel sure that would be very nice!

I managed to fix the one that broke, so they're still in service.
