E85 style 108 wheel spacer recommendations

Hi all, Was planning to not use spacers at all as some people say it is just an additional failure point (fact or fiction?). I ended up with 4 more style 108 rims so oh well, i guess i have to resort to wheel spacers.

I would like to know what would be recommended for the rear's. Im running the staggerred setup config. was considering 20mm for the rears as the wheels are currently too recessed. wasnt planning on adding any to the front, is that a smart choice?

Do let me know

The standard forum choices for standard wheels (8J ET47 and 8.5J ET50) are 10-15mm on the front and 15-20mm on the rear, depending on how aggressive you want the look to be.

On my MV2 wheels (also the standard 8J ET47 and 8.5J ET50 sizes) I went with 12mm all round but wished I had gone for 15mm or 18mm at the rear.

If you go for ~20mm on the rear, but nothing on the front it might look odd then because the front would look very recessed compared to the rear.

Definitely nothing too agressive, i do not want the wheels to stick out too much otherwise it will look funny, but makes sense. I will check with the wheel shop if i can trial just the rear spacers and see how it looks.

I always hear negative things about spacers. i do know its better to just get wheels with the right offset, but is it all that bad? Im stuck with OEM's because i just really like them with this car, i guess i dont really have a choice, right?

I am happy with nothing on the front wheels and 20mm on the back. Aesthetically the front “recess” isn’t much of a problem, but the rear needs a spacer IMO. I am running an et47 square set up all round.

I recently put 15mm on the back of another members car, which improved it too.
