No box for me to tick mr Z  will definitely be heading into 89 territory at some point :driving: be it 2.3 , 3.0 or 3.5i/Is , just not into a 2.0 of any description

No bias there with "lovely E85"

BTW pvr, I see by your post count you are on the verge of greatness

Depends on your definition of greatness of course... He is certainly a great big arse

I should have had a Mr Wilks Category !

You still own a lovely E85 though... It just happens to be a different one .

Only 3 years in for me with my E85, I'm very happy it's only a toy, I hope wil be with me for many years

Twisted my E85 for a faster, angrier E85 :driving:

Almost 8 years of continuous ownership

Shame they never put a M engine (S65) in the E89, that would have tempted me.

Never planned on getting a E89. I have always loved the E86 and did try and convince the other half on occasion that a ///M E86 was the perfect car.

I do love the whole I would have had an E89 if they had put a ///M engine in it.......they did, the N54T which is the same engine as found in the 1M. Only the 35is and the 1M have that engine. They just didn't put a ///M badge on it. So really it should go I would of had an E89 if they had put a ///M badge on it :P

Stick one on - from all reports the 35is is worthy :)

Went from 320 CI Coupe to 2003 plate E85 2.5 SE.

From there went to an A**i S3.

After the bankers stole all the money and jobs became scarce the S3 became a Corsa 1.2 Twinport Steptronic with 79bhp.

Back to E85's last year with a Silver Grey 2007 3.0 SI Sport with 34500 on the clock. Not changing it anytime soon.

Will not be going to the E89. It looks really fucking ugly from every angle.

Well done to paddyw for his ,9years in the same car........I have voted for stick, but have had 2 different e85's in the past 9 or so years.
Cheers Craig. Not that I don't live my X5 but I do miss driving it as much as I used to but it makes it a real treat when I do.

So far 80percent of you have remained loyal to the E85 - with only 7% opting for the upgrade despite the E89 having been out for 6-7 years .

It's a small poll size so far - but I tend to find with these polls that they don't change that much .

I twisted swapped my e85 for an e89 back in September last year after 4 years of ownership. No regrets what so ever I adore my e89 it's a superb car.

I would say it's very different to the e85 though. I found my e85 more fun when I was having a more spirited drive. The e89 is far more relaxing day to day a big part of that for me though is the gorgeous interior its just a lovely car to get into after a hard day and I find myself just happy to cruise along in it.

Both are great cars in my opinion I have enjoyed owning both.

I agree they are both great cars - but as you say very different. I also have a theory based on some chats at BMWCC meets Z3 owners seem to prefer the E89 and are less keen on the E85.
