Sadly that is exactly the problem the OP is referring to I believe.Bob123 said:Are these what you are referring to? I acquired them when I bought my car, so I've never seen them in situ, my car had been upgraded to a MFSW in the past.

There seem to be two screws that have plastic cylinders around them. I'm wondering if the plastic cylinders were originally bonded inside them and have become separated from the insides of the covers? I've taken a photo of the insides of the spoke covers for anyone to comment on, based on what they know.
You can see some product codes and German written on the insides of them, Links and Rechts Oben (Left and Right Above).
Are they still usable?
Thanks.
Unless you want to glue them securely to a wheel and stick it on eBay? :wink:Bob123 said:[ref]enuff_zed[/ref], thanks for the info. Sounds like they're fit for the bin then.
Excellent info, as usual!enuff_zed said:The trick to removing these is to get the wheel off the car first.
Remove the airbag and remove the black trim from the back.
Carefully undo the screws. I use a T20 Torx screwdriver as it gives more feel than a socket set. Go slow.
Once the screws are out, use a stanley knife blade to gently ease the back trim away on each side.
Do NOT move the front trim as this is what usually breaks the tabs.
With the back trim removed, lay the wheel face down and use a parallel pin punch of the same diameter as the plastic lug to very gently tap the lug back through the hole.

This IS [ref]SqerrNipz[/ref]'s wanted ad so obviously he gets the first option.
If they are not what he is looking for I'll get back to you.![]()

I plan on painting them anyway, so no worries about the lacquer peel![]()
My mistake! You meant Bob's. Sorry. :roll:enuff_zed said:Hi Rob,Usel said:Bob123 said:[ref]enuff_zed[/ref], thanks for the info. Sounds like they're fit for the bin then.

Apologies, I think I caused the confusion.Bob123 said:Sorry, I'm getting a bit confused here. I have a set of the steering wheel spoke covers which appear to have the very common damage that [ref]enuff_zed[/ref] referred to. I think that [ref]SqerrNipz[/ref] started the 'Wanted' thread and I responded with my photos and asking is that what he was looking for and whether they are damaged. From the look of it [ref]enuff_zed[/ref] has a set of undamaged ones for sale. I'm now not sure who wants what from whom. From what I can see[ref]SqerrNipz[/ref] wants to buy them from [ref]enuff_zed[/ref], probably because his are undamaged. Seems fair enough. Just let me know if someone wants to buy mine.
