E85 Silver 3.0 New Owner Pics

Have been looking at a Z4 for some time now in particular the 3.0 version. I think when Anders Warming designed the Z4 it was quite ahead of its time, 10 years later the car still looks fresh and turns heads.

With a frankly suspect budget of £5500 I started looking and there did seem to be half a dozen or so 3.0i versions available in silver which is the colour I really wanted, not just because it easier to keep clean but because it shows off the 'flame' design to its advantage.

A few didn't have Xenon lights which was my biggest want, I also wanted manual though did enjoyed my previous car which was an automatic (Audi 3.0tdi A6 quattro).

Well I saw one on Ebay that was being bid on, it had a full main dealer BMW service history and a former doctor owner which helped offset the 105K mileage. I made the owner an offer of £5400 and a deal was done. The pictures looked great and viewing it the car seemed fine, so difficult to remain objective when your heart is racing! (brings back memories of my buying a TVR Cerbera only for it to fail to get me home from the dealer!).

Well an 180 mile drive back on on the worst day of the year to be on the M25 failed to reveal any faults except for the 12v failing to recharge my Tomtom for some reason yet still managing to power the cigarette lighter?

On closer inspection the leather seats have some scuffs that my Glipstone leather conditioner have failed to rectify, I'm sure I have read of a leather treatment that can bring back the colour?...has anyone used one to good effect? Also one wing mirror has some peeling lacquer which I think only a bodyshop can resolve.

First mod will be to ditch the Bridgestone runflats in favour of some Goodyear Eagle F1's and the 108 alloys will be replaced by MV2's though the 108's don't look as bad in the flesh.

Here are some pics, nothing special I'm afraid, the last one represents a fantasy seat mod, they look great!

Oh really?!...I had no idea!...wonder if it was a big drop?...I did lower my Audi with some Eibach springs by 40mm to good effect.
