[E85] shocks for M Sport suspension

Hello,

I need new shocks for my E85 with OEM M sport suspension.

OEM, Sachs and Bilstein B8 are quite expensive and as I have really poor quality roads I think it may be waste of money, because it may fail after one bigger hole in road, so it's quite random IMO.

I was thinking about Bilstein B4 or used OEM from ebay, but in indie workshop they told that Bilstein B4 will be to long for M Sport suspension and can break very easily in hole/bump.

What to do :)?

B4's or B6's with OEM suspension would be my choice

B8's if you plan to change the springs too :)
 
You are 100% sure that B4 will be good for M Sport suspension (so originally lowered by 30mm) and won't be worse than OEM one? My mechanic says it's not good idea, but ofc he don't know everything about every car :)
 
shocks don't lower the springs do

they're fine, they're slightly better than oem sach shocks, again they're on my 3.0
 
Hmm... called local Blistein dealer, he said that it can make car more comfortable and less sporty/stiff than OEM suspension, do you agree? Ofc I don't want my Z more comfortable :evil: :driving:

Okay, have been reading for 2 hours: some says that B8 may be too hard and B6 are perfect and some says that B4 may be good enought and other that it will be too soft.

Things I worry about B4:
- will it be softer then OEM?
- will car have bigger ground clearance (is that good english word? I mean will it be bigger distance between ground and car body)?
 
B4 is valved for stock spring rates (non M sport). I know some use it with their M sport springs but am not sure if the ride quality or shock absorber lifespan will be like/affected.

Ride height is not affected by the shock absorber choice. Your M sport springs lowers the car by 15mm compared to stock springs.
