E85 Seat Options

Looking at a 2004 2.2 with manual heated seats. Driver's seat is a little tired. Refurb is an option, but so is replacement.

What options are available for seat swaps? E85? E86? E46 (coupe, saloon, touring)?

If I fit an E85 heated seat with electrics (not preferred) would the electric adjustments be supported by the existing loom?

All the above plus E89.
I think pre facelifts have the wiring normally.

I did the e89 swap and it’s sooo much better and works out a good price. Just search for it.

Personally I think the E89 seats look a bit weird in a E85. The E85 and E86 seats are the same but there are two types “Sport” seats (ordinary, fitted to SE models) and “M-Sport” (superior, fitted to Sport models or as a cost option). The M Sport seats are much nicer than the ordinary seats, although they are don’t suit people with a wider frame.

If you have an earlier 2004 model, it is much more likely to have all the electrics in place for everything (I think the cut-off was Sep/Oct 2004).

I have E46 M3 seats, electric with inflatable bolsters. Easy to install (plug and play for early E85's), only had to bolt on the seat belt connecting point.

A car built before October 2004 should have the wiring required for electric seats, but if you fit facelift ones then you will still have to work around minor issues with the passenger seat occupancy sensor.

Just checked and it's a July. Just asking about electrics as it broadens the search as they're the beige oregon leather, Manual is the preference.
