Just a quickie I promise
On my E85 roof goes down really quickly. However when coming back up its quite slow, as if labouring a touch. Any ideas.
Roof motor good and in the boot.
Cheers

Exactly what he said.

However, it's a temporary fix and eventually you will need the pump part replaced.

You could try crumbling a viagra tablet into the top of the reservoir?

Oh, in fact, one other thing to check (seriously this time):
If the red ring has been moved the bypass plunger can sometimes not quite come fully back out. With gravity assisting, lowering the roof is fairly easy, but when raising it the pump has to work harder and it can occasionally lead to a bit of pressure escaping round the bypass.
So while you're in there swapping the unions and electrical leads, just do a check to be sure that plunger is fully out too.

Your pump head may be starting to struggle

Easy fix.

Swap the power and hydraulic lines around

It will go down normally with gravity helping it and back up at a good speed
If you swap the lines round on the pump, you will also need to swap the two electrical spade connectors too, otherwise your switch will work in reverse.

My second one had been relocated into the boot without securing the pump properly, so one of the hydraulic lines was kinked. Fixing the pump in place and massaging the line back into somewhat of a straight line made mine go upwards quicker.
