E85 Roof problems

Hi all, I've gone to put the roof down on my e85 this morning which normally works perfectly but today I was met with an amber light. After looking in the boot I found this wire dangling with an exposed end which I'm assuming is where the micro switch connects. After searching around the entire area it's nowhere to be found so I'm just wondering if anyone can confirm that it is definitely the micro switch and if getting a new one and a housing which also seems to be missing should sort my issue. Thanks in advance, electrics are not my strong point. 3457.jpg

A few of us on here will have spares where are you based?

However I would say someone has bodged that in the past- if you join the wires you will have a bridged circuit and the roof will work

Without the protection however of knowing if the shelf is up or down!

That looks like someone's bypassed the microswitch previously by soldering the two wires together, or attempted to at least.

As long as the shelf has the tab sticking out to hit the microswitch (looks like it does from the picture) it should work. Given how that's been bypassed I'm a little surprised it's throwing a yellow light, although there might be some corrosion on the soldered wires. You might be able to bodge it again in the short term by stripping and twisting the blue and black wires together?

What exactly do you mean when you say as long as the shelf has the tab sticking out ?.

On the back side (towards the front of the car) there should be a little knob sticking out in the middle of that shelf - that's what contacts the microswitch to show the shelf is in the down position. One of mine was a little dodgy for a while because the microswitch wasn't being contacted properly due to a small piece of plastic being broken off it.

Yours looks okay from the picture so it shouldn't be an issue, but someone's bypassed that for a reason previously. Presumably the microswitch broke rather than the shelf - mine eventually did too. I just taped it closed with some electrical tape and never lifted the shelf.
