E85 Roof Motor Pin Spring

Hi all, wandering if someone can help.

I’m almost complete on relocating my roof motor to the dryness of the boot but somewhere in the process of disconnecting and cleaning the roof motor and going to put it all back together again I’ve lost the small spring for the pin. :headbang:

Would anybody know where to get one or have one lying around from an old motor?

Cheers

Hi,

Have you got a pic of the pin?

I’ve taken this crop from an eBay photo. I’ve got the pin but lost the spring on the end of it.

Whilst relocating countless motor I've seen a few that had no spring (probably from previous works) and they still seem to operate fine without it, if that's any consolation.

Otherwise look up the part number on RealOEM. They can't be that expensive.

Hmm. When I run the motor without the spring it appears to operate fine to begin with and gets part way through opening the hood until the hood stops. The motor then still spins in both directions but makes more of a grinding noise as if the motor is jammed. My assumption was the pin is getting dislodged due to not being held in place by the spring. Maybe it’s something else?

I’ve looked on OEM... the parts list doesn’t go below the motor unit itself.

Thanks bowser. PM me if you find one.

This is what the motor sounds like at the moment.
