E85 Roof drain

Hi all,

Sorry if this is a topic that's been discussed too much but despite reading previous threads I've not found what I'm looking for and that is a picture taken from the top part of the car looking down to the drain plug so I know where to blow air down if I want to blow it down from the top and out the bottom.

Reason being is when the z4 I'm getting had been just washed when I viewed it, when I put the roof down I looked down at the mechanism and could see a tiny amount of 'water fill' that hadnt drained away.

Cheers in advance

I don’t think an airline will clear the drains from above like that, the roof motor sits over the top of it.
You’re going to have more luck putting the airline in the drains outlets in front of the rear wheels & clearing them that way.
You can check if they’re blocked by pouring a small amount of water down each side of the rear window & checking it makes it’s way out underneath.

As said you will only get it from below, instead of compressed air use a drain cleaner which is much more effective but the bung is probably blocked so will clear it straight away.

Definitely agree with this. From below I used a flexi trombone cleaner I bought on Ebay

Far better to rod the drain from underneath the sill on each side where the drains flow through the gap in the sill, best to pull the rubber valve caps off those drains so they dont get blocked again with debris that finds its way into them over time. If your roof motor is still in consider getting it moved back into the boot to avoid it getting drowned in the future.

Yeah that's one thing I would like to get done. Who can I approach to do that for me these days? I'm in Essex.
