E85 Roof and other Issues

I'm uncertain if any of these are related, but would appreciate some concise suggestions.

Just taken delivery of an E85 2007 and the roof is not working at all, no noises, no movement, no windows moving, no latches. I've tried lifting / lowering the parcel shelf to see if the micro switch might have needed a nudge, but not done anything yet.

In addition, the AirCon is not doing anything, again, press the switch and no light, nothing. I've read in some posts that the two issues could be inter-related, but nothing specific mentioned.

I've not got to the Relays yet to test them, and no error codes on the OBD reader.

Over Xmas I'll try and raise / lower roof manually to make sure it has full range movement.

But what can I test to see if power is getting to where it needs to get to. When I [press the lowering button, the bottom amber light shows, and that's all, so a little stumped.

As always, any help much appreciated.

I’d suggest transport mode needs switching off

That will deffo sort the air con issue and I am fairly sure it prevents the roof not working but will stand corrected on that

If the rear heated window isn't working then its in transport mode however this wont affect the roof. I'd say your roof motor is dead.

I agree with the transport mode theory. Check that first before you start pulling things apart.
If the roof motor was dead then the windows would still drop and the front unlatch.

Edit: just noticed you said the amber light comes on. If the parcel shelf is definitely lowered then it is an issue with the microswitch itself. Possibly the lug on the shelf not engaged in the slot? The facelift ones are more difficult to engage if the shelf has been removed.

Thanks guys for th advice and yes the rear heated window is also not working.

The fan is also on a go slow, could this be related.

The question is then, how do you take out of transport mode ?

Where are you? Several members have the software to do it

Near York. How and why might have been put in transport mode. If anyone is nearby please PM me and I’ll give you my number.

If this is New York in Lincolnshire I’m your man

If it’s New York New York I am not

I read location as New York too! Went back to re read. Our auto correct failing us. 😆

All transport mode does is stop the AC working, makes the heater fan run on slow only and stops the heated rear window working. Any other issues toy are having are unrelated I’m afraid.
It kicks in when the battery goes flat, it should have been deleted by the supplying dealer but often wasn’t. It can be reset by some scan tools and deleted by others. Can’t recall which ones though I’m afraid.

Hence my suggestion that Stuart can diagnose the rest while he sorts the transport mode.
As I said, the amber roof light means either a microswitch issue in the boot or the parcel shelf not properly located.
