E85 roadster Hard top

Hi, I have been offered a BMW hard top for my 2007 Z4 2.5si SE E85 roadster, which is already fitted with the required parts to fit the roof.
The donor car is a 2004 Z4 E85 roadster.
My questions are:
1) Will it fit?
2) Are all the hard tops the same?
Looking forward to hearing from anyone who can help.
Mike

It should do. I'm no hard-top expert, but if its coming off a similar car, I see no reason why not.

Can you not just drive too the sellers house/location and try before you buy ?

Hi Mike and welcome to the Forum.

If its a BMW hardtop then it will fit your Zed as all UK Zeds came fitted with the appropriate fittings for a hard top.
Things I would check:

* Does it come with the locking key? Looks like a large allen key but is used for the centre front roof lock and to lock the two side securing units
* Are the two side panels present? Two small panels in roof material that cover the side mechanism when the roof is on
* Does the rear heated window work?

Hard tops were a purchasable extra either at time of purchase or after so the donor issue is not relevant providing the condition is to your satisfaction.

Hi thanks for the info.
Distance is the problem, we are 250 miles apart and a price has not yet been discussed, but your guidance would be appreciated.
Colour is silver.

Where are you based Mike? I'm in southern England and would be happy to sell you my hardtop if I'm closer. It's silver, and obviously works as its on my car at the moment!

It's silver, it's hard, it sits on top of my car... :poke:

Manchester is a fair way away, but I'll PM you a photo if you're seriously interested?

I am considering travelling 500 mile round trip for the right top, Monaco Blue is my 1st choice, but prepared to look at what`s available taking into account colour, condition, fixing kit present, it needs to be complete, the distance and asking price
If you are interested let me have details and let me know what you expect to get for it.
Mike

Monaco blue was one of the available colours for 600 Euro (about 50p at the current rates 8) ) from the German BMW dealer new. So if you are doing a road trip :D

Just got one , paid £800 picked it up from Anglesey, I didn't know how rare the lock covers are, make sure he has them before you go, there are 3. the two rear ones you cant get, had to pay another £85 for them and I was lucky. the front one you can get hold of for about £25, get it, paint it, you will be able to sell if on.
