Unlikely both key fobs failed at the same time, unless you only dug out the second one when the first failed so could have been dead for months.philbo said:Hi Billbob, Did you ever get your remote locking problem fixed? My E85 has exactly the same symptoms - Central locking works with key in door lock and on the internal locking button by the handbrake but key fobs don't work remotely. Any pointers would be gratefully received!

Have you tried unlocking manually then trying to lock with the key fob?
This was the first sign my gm5 was failing as for a while it would still lock.
Depending where you are you may have someone nearby with a spare gm5 you could slave in to check?

Don’t change anything else until you’ve done the GM5. That is the one common factor
It’ll cost you a max of £60 to get yours sorted first.philbow said:enuff_zed said:enuff_zed

The phrase ‘out on a limb’ springs to mind.philbow said:I'm in Sandwich in Kentenuff_zed said:But as I said, where are you?

To the best of my knowledge the closest person is me, in Norfolk.
Fairly easy. Get a torch and familiarise yourself with where the plugs and nuts are first. Unbolt the bracket and lower it down. Easier than getting the module off the bracket.philbow said:enuff_zed said:The phrase ‘out on a limb’ springs to mind.

Yes we are a bit, but I'm happy to have a go at getting the gm5 out and sending it off for repair. I've read some of your previous posts on removing it. Any other tips you think I need??
