E85 pre facelift ginger headlight

Im looking for a passengers side ginger headlight unit to replace my cracked one.

If there is a pair going I will take both if in good condition and reasonably priced. I don't mind if the unit needs a small amount of refurbishment but must not have any cracks or damage.
 
The internals come in black and silver, so probably worth specifying? Unless you don't mind?
Also some are xenon, so worth clarifying that too... but assume you're running standard halogen.
 
If you find a pair halogen I’m in the market for a drivers side only. As previous owner drilled the headlamp to let the water/condensation out. :headbang:

Good shout, I didn't know about the colour thing. I would be looking for the silver internals with standard candles (halogen) in them.

Oh man that sounds like a steal, I hate the fact that you have given me a choice though. Any idea what the black ones look like on the Green/Olive/Gold metallic E85s. At that price I'm almost tempted to have a punt to see what they look like.

Also you know the covers on the back that you access from the hole in the wheel arch are they included as part of the lights with the rubber seals or would I have to re use mine and purchase new seals?


This is a photo of my current lights that im looking to sort out, pretty sure the drivers side is just a worn rubber but the passengers side has a nice rock crack in the front that the last owner just siliconed up and now the silicone has worn out and started to peel I think its leaking again.

Also note yours has headlight washers? Sometimes that indicates xenon units. So worth double checking?

To be honest, I don't think I've ever seen a zed in that colour - it's pretty rare; so not sure what the black lights will look like. I've just recently swapped out my black headlights and grilles for silver ones, for contrast as my zed is black and I don't like the all-black look. Those lights have migrated to my son's zed, and that is where the spare ginger set comes from.

The back panels/seals are included with headlights. As the post above, headlight washers are indicative your lights may possibly be xenon, not halogen. Xenon lights are not manually adjustable for elevation from the driver's seat and will only have one adjuster wheel on the lightswitch; halogen lights have two.

I think I will wait for a silver pair to come up, and thanks for sharing the additional information to help me make an informed decision its appreciated. Also had no idea the colour was rare either.

Im pretty sure they are not xenon but happy to be proven wrong, the lights glow a yellow/orange colour say about 3000k rather than the white/blue about 5500 - 6000k that xenons traditionally glow at. Maybe mine are just s**t and have a bigger problem than a cracked lens. From memory I've got two adjuster wheels its cold im not going outside to check now :). But my lights do self level/calibrate when you turn them on or at least the motor does a little dance before going to the correct position.

Yep, sounds like halogens. Can't really see where you're going once the street lights disappear? They're halogen.

PS - in case you weren't aware, the silver lights are standard on the 3.0, it's black on the rest.
