E85 pre facelift drivers headlight (black)

Hi

A pigeon has decided to play chicken with my driver-side headlight. Neither myself or the pigeon is very happy any more. Is anyone selling a working driver side headlight for an 04 Z4 (halogen) with black inner plastic?

I have an 04 E85 which I believe is pre-facelift (round fog lights the giveaway?).

Defo pre Facelift. You sure it’s halogen? Also the inner light plastic is coloured. So can be black or silver... worth specifying otherwise your lights could look mis-matched even if they function correctly

Hi, thanks for pointing this out. They are black on the inside, I’ll update the thread title.

I kind of assumed they were halogen as the light beam is distinctly ‘old school’. Is there another way to tell? Both headlights have taken on that misted over plastic look, so I could be on the market for a pair if anyone is selling as a pair only.

No worries

Generally an indication of xenon is headlight washers. Some halogens have the washers as well... but if you’ve not got washers then they’ll defo be halogen.

Another way to tell is the dial on the right of the dash will have a headlight height adjustment wheel. The xenon don’t have level adjustment (it’s automatic).

The wheel on the far right of the pictures in the link is the height. The other wheel is brightness... so 2 wheels means halogen. 1 wheel is xenon. Hope that makes sense!

No washers and I’ve got the headlight height adjustment wheel. Definitely halogen! Really appreciate your help on this.

Now, anybody got any halogen pre facelift drivers side headlights for sale with a black inner???
