E85 owner from Miami Beach

Hey all, Newbie here from Miami Beach, Florida. I bought a project e85 3.0i 6spd recently and thought I'd share. 114k and clean title (though it's been resprayed). Currently on style 230's. IMG_20180813_130520.jpg

Welcome along ! I’ve never seen a roof that colour, nice ! What plans have you got for it ?

Thanks! The top is a bit worn so I'm planning to replace it at some point. It's currently got a backbox delete but that's about it. First thing, the interior needs some work. I'm going to replace the carpet as it's beyond a cleaning and source some good door cards as well as try to get an auxiliary input for the radio.

Hi and welcome - 3.0 roadster great car

saw photos of another Zed in the states with the same colour combo - white with light roof. The tan roof must have been an option in the states or the black fades quickly in all that sunshine!

If its not an ///M those M colour grill fins with have the ///M police after you in the UK

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome. Yes it is a great place for a roadster, though the summers get a bit hot! Interesting that this color combination is rare to non-existent over there. The tri-color grille came with the car, why do police harass you over there for having it on a non M?
As far as the wheels, I think they look tons better than the wheels I pulled off of it when I bought the car.

Oooh I get it the M police haha. Yeah that grille is on my E46 too only because I ordered it from Amazon and thought I clicked on the matte black one and after waiting for a month for it to arrive I decided to just install it. It has no business being on either car but it will have to do for now.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Yes, you have to watch the "M Police"! My nephew has that grill on his E46, but it's a Sport so has M badges on all the wheels, steering wheel and gear knob - that's his excuse!

Those 230 wheels look so much better than what it had! IIRC they're a 19" wheel off an E89 - do they fit OK without rubbing?

I just wondered as I just fitted a set of 295s (also an E89 wheel) that have a very similar look to my E86 and they've been fine - so far!

Regarding the 'M police' there seems to be three levels of offence: First would be the small M badge on alloys and ZHP M gear knob and M sports steering wheel, which most police turn a blind eye to. The next level offence would be your tri-colour grille (sorry), and the worst offence is sticking an M badge on the boot or wings :police: :D

Mr Tidy: They are off an e92 335i. Pilot Supersports in the front and Continental Extreme Contact in the rear. No rubbing issues at all. The tires are 225/35/19 in the front and 255/30/19 in the back. The other rims had 275/30/19 rear tires and they didn't rub at all, though the 245/30/19 rubbed in the front. I'm not sure what offset the black wheels are.

Welcome... perfect colour combo for the sunshine state
