I agree with your sentiments apart from the room !
The E89 in lid down mode is quite poor and packing for a lenghthy euro trip has to be done carefully! Roadster bags / fitted luggage is a must.

Packing for a lengthy trip is a challenge in most two seaters, but is attainable . I don't have fitted luggage but can fit in a medium suitcase hand grip and the wife's repair kit , and still find room for the odd bottle or two. And put the lid down. I agree lid up is not the best mode but normally the further south you go the more chance of sun.

I agree it's doable but the space available in the E85 roof down is much better than the E89 roof down.

The fitted luggage is good - well worth the outlay. It makes full use of what little space is available without the risk of any overfill .
