E85 Newby!

Hi guys,

This is my first post and I'm still trying to get to grips with the forum and how to use it. I'm a poor student and I've done the smart thing and bombed my entire student loan into buying an e85 3.0i and I have no regrets. (pics attached if I succeed)

I'm based in Tonypandy, south Wales and hopefully will be doing lots of road trips around the UK as holidays abroad are looking unlikely. I've got a few mods and repairs I want to do so hopefully there will be people in the know on these forums.

Welcome to the forum James. Before you shell out for mods and assuming they have not already been done there are a few essential jobs you should consider. Disa valve. Vanos service and the all important roof motor relocation to the boot. I'm sure other forum members will advise of other jobs you should do. Mods include Bigger wheels. Back box delete. Clutch valve delete. ZHP gear knob. Roof opening from key fob. Cruise control retro fit. Stubby aerial. Chrome exhaust trims. They are great cars and there are a great deal of helpful guys on this forum who will help you on your journey to happy ownership. Enjoy

before you even consider mods get your basic servicing right... change fluids and filters if it hasn't been done recently, make sure you're running on decent tyres at the correct pressures, and get a wheel alignment. they're great cars just as they are

Welcome to the forum and Z ownership, the roadster is great value and you’ll have lots of fun. Well done on posting a photo as well. Agree with the comments re making sure all basic servicing is up to date. The 3.0:is a lovely engine,great choice.

Welcome and well done on securing a three litre, they seem to be in short supply at the moment. Assuming you’ve coughed up for insurance (surprisingly cheap, even for a student), then make sure you have something set aside for the inevitable broken spring, dodgy starter motor etc. Yours looks a lovely car with some of my favourite wheels on.
