E85 N52 post-cat lambda sensors

Hi everyone, first time poster but long time lurker on this forum. Long story short, my lambda sensor became damaged during removal of the exhaust (for a handbrake replacement - awful design!). The code is P0036 so I know it’s a post cat sensor on bank 1.

Does anyone know where the plug-in sockets are for the post cat sensors? Looking at the engine bay I can only see the plugins for the pre-cat sensors.

What model year and engine have you got, ah just noticed N52, it shouldn't be too difficult to see the wiring running from the sensors, usually clipped on the side of the cam cover under the top engine cover. Should see four connectors there, the longer wires are the post cat sensors as they have a longer run.

It’s a 2007 registration 2.5l n52 engine. I’m wondering if the plug sockets themselves are under the car as the length of the cable is only 560mm according to online car parts.

If they are that short they may well be lower down under the car clipped in, if they are not topside raise the car and have a look, use axle stands don't just rely on a jack.

Just looked at oem parts site https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/showparts?id=BU32-EUR-03-2007-E85-BMW-Z4_25si&diagId=18_0652 looks like bracket for top for two sensors and a bracket underneath for the other two sensors, would make sense given the length of the cables.

Looks like bracket holders 13 and 15 in parts diagram are for post cat sensors, maybe somewhere on or near the bell housing.
