E85 Headliner Replacement

I have an 03 E85. When I purchased it about 2.5 years ago the headliner was sagging on either side along the center seam. I detached it from the front and was able to fix the sag by moving some of the screws that hold it up.

Today I was putting the top down and I heard a snap. I put it back up and heard another snap and two pieces of plastic fell out. Now my headliner is sagging again and I think it is time to replace it. I found an OEM headliner on eBay for $350 (didn’t purchase it yet) and was hoping to find a good DIY on how to install it. I honestly don’t think it will be difficult to figure out. I just wanted to make sure I’m not getting in too deep before I decide to do this myself. If you have done it before please let me know how difficult it is and share any tips you might have. Thanks a lot.

I'm sure someone will be along with more direct info but my small contribution - I replaced my soft top outer earlier in the year.

This was from my observations (page 6 of my thread, link in Sig):

Another note regarding the headliner: I don't remember which thread it was but a member said you could not remove the headliner without removing the entire roof assembly from the vehicle. This does not seem true from what I can tell, though I can't say what the minimum removal would be. At the very least where I am right now with mine (soft top outer 100% removed from car), I can definitely remove the liner.

Would it be less effort to do it with the entire assembly/hydraulics out? Not sure on that one. Just some info/ideas for anyone doing a job around these things in future.
