If it's bad then you need to take out the headlamp unit, blow it out and put it somewhere warm for a while to dry properly.
Make sure that the back cover is re-sealed properly with silicone sealant. Make sure the splash guard is in place..
This has just cost me £140 to fix at an indy. The result of a little f***er at Halfords Bromborough not putting the back cover back on properly.

I haven't even bothered with new covers, just turned the seals around and after 13 years they havn't leaked despite being opened and closed dozens of times
With silicone you've a mare to open the back for something as simple as a bulb change
