Does anyone know what type of bulb I need for my headlights? its a bmw z4 2006 (facelift model)

Is it self levelling headlight? If so it's Xenon bulbs.

Best option is to get the bulb out and check which one it is.

You'll be glad to know that no matter what bulb you put in the headlights will still be terrible!

Is it not a bit tricky to take them out? don't you need to take wheel off first? I agree though the lights are bad

It's supposed to be possible to do it by putting the steering on full lock and opening the cover in the front of the wheel-arch liner - thankfully I haven't had to try it yet!

I'm pretty sure the Halogens use an H7 bulb - maybe this would help:- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=As0_b960Al4

Had both the headlight bulbs changed before Christmas. Osram XENARC ORIGINAL D2S HID Xenon @ £28 each.

Garage had the car up on the ramp, wheels off, hatch open on both sides and bulbs replaced.

It can be done without taking the wheels off.

The Xenons will start going pink when they start to fail. One of mine went so changed both.

The easiest way to tell is if you have a little thumbwheel by the light switch to adjust the height of the headlight beam your car was built with Halogens - Xenons don't have that because they self-level.

It's marked on the front lense of the headlight h7 if it's halogen.

yes mine does have that and im pretty sure the lights are the originals

By the look of mine they lasted about 12 1/2 years. I do drive with the headlights on spring, autumn and winter though.
