There was a second one that was in mint condition and the same color I needed. It's a little over 800 dollars US. However, it's collection only. I did see the black one that you are referring to. It was damaged and incomplete for about the same price, but I'm trying to get a complete set without having to go to a collision shop.

Yeah I have been looking everywhere. The only place I've found one that is obtainable is BMW Northwest and like I stated in my original post there are pieces that are no longer available. I've tried Craigslist too. I'm just not having much luck with private sales or commercial. BMW northwest will be expensive for an incomplete set. I did email them about getting a complete set though. I guess if I have to go that route I'll get the locks and covers from eBay or somewhere online. Wish winter wasn't here already. I didn't know I was moving to Colorado until November 13th or I would have already been on top of this. Happy New year though!

Not needed to be connect though when you fit the top. They are integral connections in the top and as posted by s-s they connect automatically via the posts.
If the heater stops working they are for sure one place to check to see if they have become dislodged or damaged during adjustment.

Chuck your VIN into one of the decoder sites, hardtop prep shows as an option.

So if those wires do not need to be connected for my heated rear window to operate then what are they for?
I think you're missing my point in that they connect automatically when you lower the roof on. The question was how does the heated rear window connect - answer is to lower the roof on.

Checked my Vin and the car did not come with hardtop prep. Since I can't find one. The car will be in the garage. I had to call a friend to drive my car back to the house and into the garage while I was on a training mission a couple weeks ago because we got a foot of snow while I was out there. Luckily got the car in before that snow caused any sagging of the soft top!
