E85 hardtop interior covers

A forum member lent his hard top to a guy who wanted to make a mold and didn't get it back. I wouldn't lend my set as these things are pretty expensive, good luck though

Yes there are always dishonest scrotes everywhere. Thankfully i’m not one of them. I’d be prepared to hand cash over as a return deposit to ensure they got the bits back.

If you manage to make a set I would be interested as my hardtop doesn’t have them and the are extremely hard to come by 😥

How long would you need them for do you think?

I would have to ask the 3D printing company close to me how long it would take. This could be a useful excercise to see if we could produce more for owners that need them.

Been attempted before I think let me see if I can find something!

Okay so not 3d but it was discussed, I'm sure now with tech a few years more advanced its a more viable option!

If someone could do a sketch - with dimensions. I could do the CAD, and print them myself. Material is about £30/kg I dont think they would weight more than 50g.

might take a few attempts to get them right, and with 3d printing, it will require some post processing to get them to a good visual standard. Or vinyl wrap them.

Where is everyone based? I think you’ll prob get someone to lend you some, like me, but you’d have to be close by. Wouldn’t fancy posting them personally.

I’d much rather drive to you so you can scan them. Then take them back home... safer that way... like mentioned people have helped out in the past and had a real hassle from it.

Already done these, just need covering

Think you'll have quite a few people queueing up Neil! Brace yourself for the bombardment of PM's!

I remember seeing them at last years Zedfest but never came over to see the quality, surely once wrapped/covered they will look no different!

I'm doing consultancy work for Ultimaker in the Netherlands right now.
They gave me an Ultimaker 3 extended to play around with.
If you can get it cadded/scanned and supply a STEP file I could have a crack at printing them....?

Sorry to hear that Chris :(

I don't have a hardtop (yet) but I'm definitely interested as I know the covers often get separated from roofs when they're sold on..... watching to see how this develops

I know 3D printing took 20 hours for one!!! and you have to try difference angles so you get the strength in the unit.

3D printing

Hi mac27040 - just wondering if you ever had a go at printing the small round cover that hides the central bolt at the top of the hard top? There's a small queue of forum members looking for one :D
