Just recently the offside front fog light on my car has recently become fogged up with conversation . Has anyone had this problem and replaced the lense or the unit , or managed to resell it?.

Common problem on all face lift fogs. In a nut shell, design problem and they're not fit for purpose. Suggest you do a forum search, loads of topics on this problem.
Pre face lift round fogs don't have this problem.

Do you have warranty ? If so I can help you claim under that as I have done this successfully twice.

As this is such a common fault I can't believe no one has designed some non OEM ones. I have tried drying mine out numerous times but the problem just comes back, guess I will just have to buy some new ones as the reflective coatings has but dissolved. I have read through all the old posts but has anyone come up with a fix to at least try and delay the problem coming back on brand new ones?

I understood that original OEM fogs were actually made in Brazil. Perhaps the replacement ones supplied by BMW are now sourced from a different supplier. Has anyone had a problem with replacement fogs?

Well the first set i had replaced under warranty went wrong again after around 30k miles - so I dont know if the supplier changed.

My original facelift OEM fogs were made by AL in Mexico, the new ones I saw at the stealers were Bosch - but I had lost my trust in the design anyway.

In the end, I went for quality OSRAM DRLs in OEM fog light blanks. It took the local indy some drilling and fitting, but the final effect looks almost OEM and is 100% legal.

Have a look here:

That's right Mexico not Brazil. I wonder if the AL spots were poorly manufactured? Interesting to see if the Bosch spots of a similar design are better made?

Over £200 for the pair from the stealers!

I saw a post on here end saying £70ish each from Jamie at Sopers - have they really gone up to over £100 each? I need to get one shortly so hope not!

Ah-that quote was from Stratstone in Hull when i wanted a pair

Just called by local stealers "Scothall" Hampshire and they want £110 per side so if they are £70 each at Sopers thats a bloody good price. I asked if he knew if they had moved over to Bosch but no info was available to him.

I got the cost from here
