E85 front bonnet catch, needed?

So I have just failed my MOT for having a missing front bonnet catch. Its a 2008 3.0si roadster. I am not sure if there was ever one there. Do other have the front safety latch? I have the side latches but after you pull the lever the bonnet could just open. I have found the part numbers on real OEM that show there could be one, but on another post a couple of coupes have confirmed they don't have one either? Let me know if pics would help.

I have a centre catch, why not just buy and fit then you're good to go?

All vehicles MUST have a secondary means of preventing the bonnet flying open if either the latch fails, or it is activated whilst the vehicle is in motion, so therefore facelifts must still have some form of secondary release. Only exception is where the bonnet opens from the rear.

pre-facelift lock in the middle, but think and i could be wrong the facelift lock on the corners

can anybody else with a facelift model confirm or deny if they should be fitted? Checking the screw holes they actually look like paint still on threads thus maybe never has one fitted, but the holes are all there? I found the parts on real OEM its 15 and 17 in the attached:

There's two threads on this. People are getting confused between the catches and leaver. Facelift have two catches either side and should have a leaver at the front. Look at the other thread for image examples.

Facelift catches are on both sides (by the water bottle and same place on other corner)

Just the two side ones on mine. Never had a failed mot on it. It comes from the factory like it.

I ordered from BMW yesterday, and they came from the factory and are in my local service centre already. Great service and should be nice and easy to fit! £36 for both top and bottom parts and 4 screws. Thanks for all your help. And this confirms that there should be a front centre catch fitted and it is required for MOT for any doubters. Any without this fitted, I suggest you get this sorted as you may have issues come MOT time.
