E85 for £3200 or less

How things change in a couple of days :(

Sorry for your woes. I hope you get the house situation sorted soon, then you can get back to the serious issue of looking for a zed.

We're about the finish a Z4 in (Cough) which will shortly be coming up on the market, she'll be fit for many years to come. Few photos showing the work. PM me for more info.

Ross, let me know if you want mine left on the table as an option or not.

As you know, some cosmetic bits that could be improved over time. But mechanically, you’d just need to order a valve cover gasket and find a time to get it fitted and then you’re away! Happy to share some of the invoices if you’d like; £2k+ spent in last year (admittedly some went on labour), including replacement of diff, rear wheel bearings, new front brake callipers, discs & pads, replacement front wishbones and renewed gearbox oil among other things.

Alternatively, it will be up for sale in April/May with VCG replaced and fresh MOT. But I’ll be asking over your £3200 budget.

Not ruled anything out at the moment, just have alot going on in the background, current landlord has sold our house, we had found somewhere to go but the new landlord pulled out at the last minute to give it to his brother instead, having a nightmare!! have 6 weeks to find a new house for my family so the car stuffs on a backburner a little bit, Still looking and thinking about options when I have time, but its not a priority right now.

Sorry to hear; sounds like a stressful situation - best of luck. Completely understand the need to de-prioritise.

You’ll be surprised. The car will be sold at cost, we estimate around the 4K mark. I have a full build thread, haven’t had s chance to copy it over here.

I'd be interested in the the spec etc of the car as well @Joycey as I'm in the market for one. Looks very nice work. Unfortunately I can't PM you as I've only just created my account and don't have enough posts yet.

Thanks

Seen this myself, will be a real gem when fully finished considering it’s had a full top to tail refresh. Will go flying through MOT’s for many years to come!

Sometimes paying that little bit more for a car with a stack of receipts is worth it. Plus it’s Maldives Blue which is really lovely.

How about my Z4? :happyclap:
2003 - E85 - 2.5i - Manual - Sterling Grey* - 68,517 miles - 1 year MOT
I'm located in Ipswich, Suffolk so not far from you (~40 miles)

* I'll confirm the colour tomorrow, too cold and dark to check the code right now but it's metallic gunmetal grey whatever BMW call it.
No known major issues, roof motor replaced inc. new drain hole so it won't fail again, RFTs replaced with normal tyres (so much quieter and much gentler ride), wheels refurbed, aircon still works, just passed another MOT with no fails, headlamps done at the same time.
Leather seats, BMW satnav

Let me know

Ooh that looks nice. Especially if it's in the OP's ballpark price wise?

Well actually that's why I came to this forum to find out what I should be asking for her. WeBuyAnyCar quoted me a price which I assume is a joke after finding other prices on here and other places on t'Internet

Well, welcome to the forum anyway.
You will definitely get a more discerning clientele on here.
I'd suggest you take a look at a few of the For Sales on here, compile a good one for yours, including lots of pics, interior, engine bay etc. and post it up at what you consider a decent price.
You won't get tyre kickers, but you will get some in depth comments which could help you if you end up selling it elsewhere.
It's the right time of year to be selling so hopefully you'll find it a good home fairly quick.
I'm not a million miles from you, so if I hear of anyone looking I'll point them your way.

Unfortunately for now my Z4 dream is over, due to my housing situation being all over the place I've had to buy a crappy old banger (Audi A3) for £1000 to commute in and use the rest of my budget to pay a few debts off. So I can spend this year sorting out a deposit to buy a house.....

Im still going to lurk on the forum and one day I am going to own one, but it wont be until after I've bought a house now, and its more likely to be an E89.

thanks for all the help and advice given, I've been overwhelmed by the kindness of the people on here, and one day I will join you all in zed ownership.

Sad news Ross, but obviously a flash car is not a priority right now.
Do keep in touch and if you're over my way pop in.
Hopefully things will soon return to an even keel and we can assist you in your dreams.
All the best, Martin
