E85 Fans and Rear Widow Demister Not Working - Electric Roof and Heated seats do

I have had a car in transport mode before and cleared it with INPA.

Unfortunately, the lead got thrown away and the new lead does not want to play nice with the Virtual Machines I installed for the original lead. (New lead came with a CD ROM) I do not have that drive.

I noticed though that this time, my electric roof, radio and heated seats are working fine and so am confused. looked at fuses 20 and all of the others they are intact.

Can anyone shed some light on this so I can fix without buying a whole new INPA set up?

Or let me know where I can get a setup cheap?

SN8 Area.

Transport mode will close the Aircon down as well as radio and heated rear screen no effect on the seats.
Cheapest method of sorting it if you don't want to go the INPA route is to get yourself BMW Scanner 1.4 and put that on your laptop.
Available on ebay for decent money, comes with interface and cable, software used to come on a CD but may come on a stick these days.
Easy to set up and easy to use will scan all modules on your car. Transport mode lives in the Hvac module which when accessed will give you a menu to choose what you want to do, Transport mode is in the reprogramming menu as far as I recall. When accessed it will give you some options, just select Normal and it will switch transport mode off. Have done a couple of Z4's using this kit, unfortunately it dosn't delete the transport mode just resets it. Low battery condition will bring transport mode back on.
It should have been deleted at PDI when the car was sold new but dealers being dealers they didn't bother as it was bound to generate money for them in the future,

@Colb, Hi, thanks yes. I have had the issue before and used INPA to resolve. My lead is lost and new one doesn't work.

This time though, I have radio, heated seats and soft top motor all working. The only things NOT working are the Aircon, Rear Window and Fans.

That is why I was looking for advice or someone with a working INPA that could help out.

aircon, rear window and the fan are the only things affected by transport mode - no idea why they thought it was a good idea to do that though...

Ah right, thanks. I couldn't remember what was and wasn't working last time.

So now I just need some help getting my INPA to work.

[ref]colb[/ref], here's a bit of a random question for you.
If transport mode lives in the HVAC module, would swapping that module clear the problem?
Yes I know it's a sledgehammer to crack a nut, but I have someone here with that issue and I have a spare module, but not got the software............yet.

Never thought of that, might be worth a go don't think it would break anything just doing a swap.

Well at least you didn't laugh me off the forum.
So, I have a pre-facelift unit and the car is facelift. Would that work?

I wouldn't think there would be any difference between the two as they both do the same things, plug it in and see if it works.

Got the BMW 1.4 software and lead today. Took less than 5 minutes and so much easier than installing VMs and hoping INPA works. Probably not as comprehensive but I am fine with that. Turns out it was Power Save mode?

Glad you got it sorted with BMW Scanner 1.4, its a really useful bit of kit being so easy to install and operate.
Sitting behind it all is PASoft software with the BMW Scanner 1.4 in front of it.
Its the only software I have found that can deal with Transport mode without all the difficulties stuff like NCS Expert, DIS and Winkpf present you with. Worth exploring all the modules and seeing what it can do programming wise.

How much was that?
