E85 ECU/DME specialist

I’ve previously had a GM5 module checked/repaired by sending it away to a chap in Harrogate and I’m wondering if there’s a similar service for the ECU/DME.

I know someone with an E85 2.5 they are looking to make a track car and having possible ECU-related issues. Rather than just replacing it with another used unit, is it possible to send the original DME away to be tested and, if necessary, repaired/reconditioned?

As it’s a track car, he’d also like to know whether the immobiliser/EWS can be removed or disabled as part of the work, as wants to use a start button.

Can anyone recommend a reputable specialist who can test and recondition these DMEs and advise on the immobiliser side?

Thanks Jason

You can search eBay for "BMW EWS delete" although I have no experience of them.

I prefer the simplicity (and security) of a key for starting the car, especially as it is occasionally left at circuits overnight.
