Morning all, thought I’d just post a ‘heads up’ to anyone thinking about refurbishing their wheel or using a non-MSport multi-function wheel to convert and refurbish non multi-function MSport one.

It wasn’t until I had an non-MSport and MSport wheel in my possession at the same time that I realised the trim is different.

The good news is, it’s only the trim for the bottom spoke of the wheel that is different, the side spoke covers are the same and interchangeable :thumbsup:

On this basis, you can swap the trim and wiring from a Non-MSport multifunction wheel to an MSport non-multifunction wheel and vice-versa.

However; The bottom spoke cover on the MSport wheel is significantly shorter than on a non-MSport wheel and the two are not interchangeable :!:

So, if you have a non-MSport multifunction wheel already, but you want an MSport wheel you can swap over the side covers/buttons & wiring, from your current wheel.

There’s a ‘how to’ on this already, and it’s really straightforward but a couple of photos of the required wiring that needs to be moved;

The loom in Yellow below, is right steering wheel buttons to car, the blue loom is right steering wheel buttons to left steering wheel buttons.

The ‘yellow’ Loom removes easily, the ‘Blue’ loom requires loosening of the Torx bolt at the bottom of the airbag carrier to give enough clearance to avoid damaging the cables/plugs. Don’t forget the re-tighten the Airbag carrier!

In this example I’ve gone from a tired MSport multi-function to a non-MSport (but Royal’s re trimmed) non-Multi Function wheel;
