Get a static plate https://www.staticplates.com/ (or double sided-sticky tape).

Yes mate, they're fine at high speed. I've had a couple as they're a soft material and start to go a bit at the corners if you're taking them on and off. First one lasted about 2 years. It still worked fine, just got a bit creased.

Cheers Dan. Looking to order new shortened plates shortly. Specified to the dealer that I didn’t want a plinth or drilled plates so I could fit shortened ones. These look like they might do, they’d stay on pretty much all the time.

I used a standard number plate but gently formed it to match the profile of the bumper using a heat gun. Once you've done that, use sticky pads on the back and you're done. If you don't shape it to fit the bumper first, it'll naturally want to straighten itself out again and will eventually come unstuck.

I was only talking about this today with a friend. I’d quite like to get rid of the holder and go vinyl or similar attached the actual front bumper. DVLA guidelines seem to say so long as its reflective, using the correct font/spacing and on a vertical base its fine.
