Hi,

I am looking for an ISOFIX bracket to fit the passenger seat base frame of an E85 / E86 Z4.

If anyone has one please let me know.

Thanks

Stuart

Just to check - do you have the button to switch of your passenger airbag? Or plan on fitting this?

If not it wouldn't be recommended to fit a child seat even if you do find an isofix bracket.

Used to work at a baby shop, have this stuff drilled into me

Hi Mike,

Yes plan on fitting the retrofit kit for disabling the passenger airbag

Thought you would have been - just couldn’t not ask 😂 best of luck finding an isofix bracket anyway!

Aren't the brackets welded to the frame ?? I'm sure when I changed my seats to M sport, the brackets were part of the frame :|

I was under the impression it was a bolt on bracket based on previous threads on the forum, however you can’t buy it separately from BMW.

I can confirm that it is a bolt on piece, having fitted one to my E85 non-M sport passenger seat.

You don't happen to have a photo of the bracket before you fitted it do you?

I did have, but can’t find it now. I had a look online but can’t find a Z4 specific diagram. This one is of a 1 series I think, but the arrangement is much the same. It’s a fiddly job to get to the bolts, but you basically undo two bolts at the back of the seat base frame, remove the cross brace shown (7) and replace it with the ISOFIX cross brace (circled in red).

I don’t think you can buy the part on its own from BMW without buying the whole seat base. I got mine on an exchange basis from a member on here who answered my request.

Your best bet might be to buy a whole used passenger seat with the bracket. Alternatively contact breakers to see if they would sell it to you seperate?

Yeah I have tried breakers however the bracket would need to be replaced with the non-ISOFIX bracket to retain the integrity of the seat, I might have to go down the route of purchasing an entire seat.
