E85/E86 in Computer Games

My employer is working with a gaming company called Eutechnyx who do some rather nice car based computer games. They were featured in our in house mag where I spotted a really nice E86 they'd modelled. I'm going to see if I can find some high res images that we can have access to, but for now here are some links to online examples. Some of them are hard to tell from a photo...

Unfortunately this pic is not a great resolution.

Even if you ignore the fact that the blue one just looks like a computer-generated model, there are enough 'errors' to tell you too:
  • tyre tread is not the same as OEM ContiSport M3 tread
  • wrong exhaust tips
  • holes drilled in brake disc should be uniform, and not in a 'curved' pattern
  • missed the keyholes on the door
  • completely wrong size wipers

The full picture of the red one is low resolution, so it's hard to pick out anything, but the close-up looks good.

The one in Forza 4 is not bad - even though it's the US version...

I thought it looked ok :?

Saying that, it does have a wierd roof... :poke:

It does sit a bit high though doesnt it??

Can't see the back boxes either, but in fairness the blue one looks like a 'draft' rather than the finished article of the roadster ?

They're the best pics I could find via Google. Admitted, the blue one is obviously CGI, but I defy anyone to tell the first pic is not a photo. Shame I can't find a hi-res pic of the full car. The Forza models are good too. I don't know if Turn-10 does their own or contracts it out.

The only weird thing about the red one is the number pate holder being body coloured - ever seen this on a real Z. That's just a subtle aesthetic tweak I guess.

I'm a little confused, the red one IS a photo isn't it? In fact I've seen it quite a few times before...

I want one - even though mine is black on black, the plastic looks worn :x

Was that an ///M thing do you think ? Shall have a peek on Autotrader...

EDIT - looks like they are all colour coded on Autotrader. Tsk

best just buy an M and be done with it Bing! seems like a "deal maker"

Another problem with the blue one is the tyres have no camber. These sort of minor gaffes don't bother me in games, the graphics are impressive enough, and the physics modeling is astounding.
