Hi All

For those that have been through the outer door handle wear issue and solved it. Does this look like the amount if wear that would cause the door to be difficult to open?

I'll be honest, I was expecting to find obvious wear on this V bit.

That looks ok. Yes, worn, but not enough to cause real issues.
If it's difficult to open it'll be the cable from the handle to the lock that has stretched.
Then people yank harder and harder on the handle until eventually it wears away that bit you have in the photo.

I've already replaced the little bowden cable, as that's what I first suspected. It made no difference so researched more and found this outer handle wear thing, so went for a look.

Fair enough, in that case then it does look as though it must be that wear.
So ideally need a new handle, but you could possibly look at taking up a little bit of movement in the cable so the handle doesn't have to move so far. @bigwinn described how to do it a couple of years back. It'll be on here somewhere.

Found it:

I’ve had additional problems in this vein before where the teeth of the ‘cam’ that moves when you open the handle can wear- then not engage the mechanism properly

Check it still has 3 teeth
