E85 / E86 Distinction

Probably a naive question but have only just bought a Z4 and only just joined this Forum but how do you know which one you have E85 or E86 ? I have a convertible so is that what defines it ? I've looked on the registration document and there is no information like that.
Cheers

Yeah, pretty much 👍

Convertible = E85
Coupe = E86
Newer generation Z4 with folding metal roof = E89
Current Z4 = G29

Hey don't worry about it, lots of people don't get that at first; including me - but if you've got an E85 then you've got the best! :D :thumbsup:
The big question to be asking is, which is best... stubby or whippy? :fuelfire:

Or the more recent trend of a semi :lol:
A whubby as i like to call it, never been a stubby fan, e85 suits a whippy, not so much the e89 but i couldn't bring myself to buy a stubby.. now my car proudly touts its semi.. oo-er missus :D :D

:rofl: I thought mine came with a whippy but it was actually a whubby :wink:

I think after already having an E89 that came with a stubby I found even the whubby dominated the wing mirror compared to it and kept catching my eye.

I left it a couple of weeks to see if I could get used to it but I didn’t like it so the 35 is now sporting a stubby :thumbsup:

Personally I don't think it matters which model you have so long as it's a Z4 - but it's E86 only for me. :D

Anyway here is mine complete with a semi on!

You know, if you read through the last few posts with an American accent and say it as sem-eye, then it just doesn't sound right at all.
And another important thought for the day... is there any difference at all between a whubby semi and a stippy semi. I need to know, or I might not sleep tonight, and when the wife asks why it will be awkward to say I'm thinking of different types of semi.

Especially when you tell her you're off out to the garage to play with it!

Or even worse say you’re going to unscrew it and change it for a smaller/bigger one!
