E85/E46 suspension commonality

Do E46 non-M camber plates work on non-M E85s, or are E85-specific plates strictly necessary?

I've spent some time on realoem trying to get a handle on parts commonality for the stock components (top mounts and spring perch shared with E36 for example), but looking at aftermarket it's not entirely clear whether E36 or E46 bits would fit.

I'm looking for plates for use with standard-type (B12 kit) springs. Not totally against spending some £££ with CA but keen to explore cheaper options too.

TIA and apologies if this has been covered to death.

Technically they're different to the E46 as the little locator pin is in a different spot, but on most top mounts you can remove these pins to get proper camber anyway so no harm removing them, the 3 studs are in the same spot etc so pretty much interchangeable if you consider the pins. Personally though, the difference between E46 OEM level and E85 OEM level parts was nothing, so I just bought lemforder 85 top mounts and removed the pins anyway to get a bit more front camber.

Control arms are the same from what I've seen. Struts and springs bespoke, that'll be down to the cars being different balance and weight.

Isn't the E85/6 top mounts much shallower than the E46 one too?

You will probably raise the car by 15mm or so using those.
