E85 Convertible Roof Issue

Hey guys!! I’ve read multiple threads about roof issues and just wanted your opinion on this!

It’s just before summer over here and I wanted to have the roof down, I press the button and the roof unlatches then there’s a click I hear near the glove compartment and nothing happens. There’s a red flashing light accompanying the silence as well. It’s like the motor doesn’t even get a chance to activate because the car senses there’s an issue. I’ve tried the parcel shelf and replacing the roof fuse. Is there anything else I should try before taking it somewhere?

If your roof motor hasn’t been relocated I’m willing to bet it’s currently sat in a lovely wet pocket which will be the root of your issue

bigwinn is probably right in his diagnosis of your roof problem, best thing is to get it out from the stick position and relocate it to the boot/trunk where it can be worked on and taken out of the water trap. Here is a link to a how to do it.

The click is from the relay to run the pump's motor. This is a clear indicator, that there is an issue with the motor and nothing else.

As if you need another vote, but I'll agree with the others.
And tbh, until you get the motor out in your hand you'll never know anyway.
