Hi all,

Currently own a 2.5si and looking to increase the handling of my car. Quite new to this so bare with me.

With new coilovers is it worth splashing all that cash for it? and whats the difference between the high end makes such as KW or H&R to the lower prices brands?

or does using lowering springs just do the job?

Any advise would be much appreciated.

The coliovers are adjustable for height rebound and other things. More expensive ones will be better quality and offer more adjustment.

If you don't understand how suspension works just get the springs. Or uprated springs and shock absorbers. If you want to learn get the coilovers. I just lowered mine and it feels better IMO but i am planing to replace with coilovers at some point.

I don't know that much about it i am sure someone who dose will help out soon

I will be going for a set of KW V2's (when they are delivered), had the v2 kit on my previous car and the difference is quite remarkable.

Though truthfully, I'm going for these coilovers as they will go much lower than springs whilst offering me adjustability should I need to raise the car.

Lower the car & you are likely to have to adjust the camber, otherwise you'll get even worse tyre wear. Lowering also brings potential tyre rubbing & grounding issues.

With coil overs, maintaining your standard ride height will avoid all of the above & when you consider most track racers fit coil overs, is the obvious choice to improve handling if money's not an issue.

Sweet stuff !
Think i'll just save a bit of money and go for some decent Coilovers!
with adjusting the hieght.. can you manually do this yourself? or will need to take it to a garage?

can do it all yourself, jack up, take the wheel off and turn as many times as you want up or down, then match on the opposite side.
For the rears, take wheel off, remove lower strut bolt and pull the spring and cup out, then refit.

AST's have a much better method to adjust on the front, so you don't need the keys, but either way not hard.
