E85 Bluebus install issue, controls work, but no sound. Please help!

We're trying to install a Bluebus into a 2004 E85.

We connected what we believe to be the power cable, the dsp cable, and the telephone adapter. Everything pairs, and acts like it works, but we have no sound. I navigated the menu and determined that the DSP was set to digital. The voice assistant button, play/pause button etc. all works. We see metadata for what is playing, just no sound. We tried two different phones.

Does anyone have ideas for next steps?

Cannot really help with troubleshooting your case specifically, but when I had problems with mine (microphone interference cutting any playback and terrible sound in phone calls), Ted, the inventor, patiently helped via email. He finally sent a replacement unit and even followed up that he’d found a bad solder in the original unit. Really appreciate how helpful and open he was.

Comparing to photos from my project, you have the correct three-pin cable and coax digital dsp cable connected. My zed does not have the phone connectivity cable but instead a custom cable, as instructed by Ted, for an oem microphone. The problem I had with the faulty unit was that whenever I connected the microphone cable, or even a dummy cable with no microphone, to the six-pin connector, and brought that cable inside the cabin, any microphone input or EMI current induced to the cable would cut bt playback out. A long shot, but IF your unit would have the exact same fault mine had, I’d suggest to try to disconnect the six-pin connector for troubleshooting.

Thanks for the reply.

I actually did email Ted, and he replied a couple times, but it was Saturday, and I'm sure he is trying to enjoy his time off. I sent him some follow-up information, and I imagine I'll hear back this week. I still posted here and on z forums, just to crowdsource some troubleshooting ideas.

I had a similar problem installing bluebus in an E46. I was using an older iPhone and had to upgrade the software of the phone.
