e85 bhp

for anyone reading future reference the N52 2.5i is the 177bhp version as above the M54 is 192 bhp (depending where you read)

and yea, with the M54 , its pretty highly strung from factory in terms of power output, so it'll be hard gaining anything substantial without forced induction.

Probably best to sell up & get a 3.0 if performance is an issue with the 2.5i

Buy the 3.0, cheapest power upgrade
For 0.9sec faster? I test drove five 3.0s and had one for a week, compared to the 2.5 they all felt slightly heavy on the corners. Weight maybe? But isn't the block the same size with larger bores? Would that added weight make that difference. It was definitely noticeable.
The 6th gears a bonus on longer runs, but on the power front from the 0-70 there wasn't a noticeable difference. 4 grand on a supercharger and you're up to near 5.5sec with a 2.5i. Then again you could buy an "M". Depends how much you paid for yours and the added cost of a SC and fitting. It could work out cheaper than the M. Budget obviously steps in at this point.

I have an Eisenmann exhaust and Ramair induction which helps. Induction easy DIY job and a few BHP

Looking at adding Ramair induction for my 2.5 + carry out a remap to get more low down oomph - wheres the best place to buy the ramair kits and do you know the purchase price?

Your best bet for making it faster would be stick a lsd in the diff suspension and brake upgrades. If you want power supercharger or turbo the only way to go. With supercharger being the easiest option.!

This is the one I bought, straightforward to fit in half an hour with some patience
