Hello

I recently took my aluminium dash and my centre console out to replace them but unfortunately iv since noticed iv lost the aux option on the stereo display.

Any ideas on how to get it back?

Previous owner fitted the aux adaptor which I think he said took the multi cd player function away.

Iv gone back through to make sure nothing got disconnected.

Thanks
Arthur

Can't offer any useful info I'm afraid but I must say I do like your facia and centre console upgrade.
Robert.

The Aux selection is only displayed if the cable is connected to the aux input on the back of the radio. There's a resistor in the cable which tells the radio that the cable is connected. I'd double check the connections and the cable in case something got dislodged.

I took the stereo out again and could not find any loose connections.

I'm sure they knew what they were doing, but that looks like it was fitted by someone in a stetson and spurs!

That looks correct. The radio connector should have another shell around it, similar to the white shell on the adjacent connector, to retain it and ensure its orientation.

However the orientation looks correct in your photo.

Thanks, if it's in the correct orientation then iv no idea why it's not working.

Any other tips?

Maybe I should start again with a blue tooth module?

Thanks
Arthur

Hi Arthur,

Is the radio connector pushed in all the way? Are the pins secure in the connector? There can't be much wrong if it used to work...

I've got a spare connector shell if you want it (better picture below), though it should work without - as yours used to.

Have you got a multimeter? Can you test the cable?

I retrofitted an aux cable to my radio and the resistor in the cable was all that was needed for the Aux option to appear.

Otherwise maybe try a new cable, or a Bluetooth module if that's what you really want :)

Thanks for all the help, I ended up just getting a new aux cable on Amazon for £9.99 and it now works!

I considered getting a bluetooth module but iv already got an Airfly bluetooth adaptor and found it worked very well when the aux worked!

Thanks
Arthur
