E85 aux input…

Hi, I’ve been meaning to get around to installing an aux input cable I bought years ago. It’s a fruity cable with a small connector. However, there is nowhere free on the big connector for it to go. There was a post with the pins labelled but I can’t find it now. I have Bluetooth phone so it might be that it’s blocking the port for the aux input. I do use the Bluetooth phone occasionally.

But I’ve seen a better product I think. It’s a booth adaptor that goes behind the dash and the large connector block just plugs into the one that comes with the Bluetooth adaptor and then piggy backs it. Looks like a better solution and some people said you can use the steering wheel controls still with this? Can that be right?

Does anybody have a Bluetooth adaptor that sits behind the dash which has good functionality and doesn’t interfere with the Bluetooth phone? If so could you point me in the direction of the specific unit?
Thanks

I don't know about bluetooth phone because my car didn't come with it, but I have installed a BlueMusic module behind the radio.
I didn't need it for calls so I just bought one for sound streaming. It works perfectly. You just click on CD mode on your radio and the bluetooth music is coming from there. Because of that, they have coded it (or maybe didn't have to) and it does work with steering wheel controls. I can switch songs from my steering wheel.

I have basic Business CD, pre-facelift car without stock bluetooth. You can pick different ones for different factory configurations, you just have to see what you have. I think they have a nice customer support, so you may ask them which one you should buy.

If it goes behind the radio, this is how it's done. For some cars/factory configurations, the module goes into the boot.

Good luck!

EDIT:

To help you more, here is what I have bought. It can be hard to find what you need, I had that trouble. Maybe you will need different one.

I put the blue music adaptor into my z4 today. I got the one with the mic. Music is working well.

The voice call is very quiet. My z4 has Bluetooth phone connection built in but the voice calls were so quiet I thought might as well get the blue music adaptor with the microphone for calls. It works but it’s really quiet still. On the built in phone Bluetooth you can’t fit adjust the volume. On the blue music you can turn it up but have to turn it right up and it doesn’t seem right. Is there possibly a way to increase the overall sound of voice calls that is set somewhere on the car or something?

Thanks
