E85 audio issues. Blown amp?

Hi,

I really hope someone can shed some light on this for me. I bought my 54 plate z4 about 6 weeks ago and love it but ever since I bought it the sterio has never produced sound. I was told it only needed reprogramming. I looked in the boot to find that the amp was water damaged. I have sorted the water issue out but need some advice on the amp. I bought a matching amp off eBay which the seller assured me was a working part but after getting it installed and reprogrammed it still doesn't work the garage felt that the amp is still at fault. I'm not sure where to go with this now does anyone know where there is a amp for sale as a brand new one is £400. The head unit lights up fine could the issue be with anything else?

Any advice would be much appreciated as I'm tearing my hair out now
 
Has anyone got any ideas as to where to get a new amp or if it's possible to get my second hand amp repaired or reconditioned?
 
Sorry to hear all the troubles mate. :( I can't help you on this one, but hopefully another member might be able to offer some advise and assistance. Hope you get it sorted soon
 
I think the only way to eliminate it being the amp is to try a KNOWN working amp in yours and try yours in another car.

I guess it's not uncommon to have a water damaged amp given its location and boot 'watertighness'. I have one that's goosed and it's only morals stopping me flogging it as working on fleebay.

Hope you get it sorted. I fixed mine by bypassing the amp and fitting a new system but that's a fairly big job.
