e85 angel eyes/degingered xenon headlights

Your best shout would be to tackle your own. The cutting them open really is quite easy. Just need to find some cheap ones.

is it literally a case of opening them and cutting the orange bit out and then sealing it back up again?

No it's not unfortunately. You need to replace the orange bits with clear bits from Facelift headlamps. These cost a small fortune.

You can DIY it with some clear plastic, but it doesn't look anywhere near as good.

Looking to tackle the lens split this weekend, to respray and clear marks left from condensation. Can anyone advise of anything that is a potential issue when doing this? Anything that could save me destroying my headlights with a silly mistake.

Are the e86 headlamps a straight swap?

As far as I'm aware. If you have halogens you're OK. If you have xenons, it's Nigh on impossible. Hence why people cut and shut.

ok I'm back on this now that I've sourced my CSL reps.

was thinking, what about just tinting the whole headlight lens black? see below link where a similar job was done.

wasn't sure whether the orange will come thru though.

anyone tried this?

also wondering whether it will look right on my sterling grey e85-its looks great on a black car. I'm going to fit some black CSL reps too.
