Evening all, Newbie here....

Recently acquired a 2006 3.0si in Saphire Black as a summer weekend car/hobby. Tastefully modified with a Z4M rear bumper including quad tail pipes, Dare black 18" wheels, a front lip spoiler, and lowered 35mm with H&R springs. It's got the module for one touch roof operation and key fob. All black leather interior with headed electric seats. steering wheel has been recovered and feels amazing. Has all the original sound system with nav and CD changer. Just need to figure out the best method to connect my iPhone so I can play Apple Music through the speakers. Won't be using the Nav as I have Waze on my phone if required, but assuming I can replace the head unit as the car settings are done on the screen using the current head unit. I plan of having my phone it a holder being charger from the cigarette lighter when I need it. Hopefully a bluetooth device or lead I can plug into.

I've so far had to remove the lip spoiler as it was catching on every speed bump, and I'm considering refitting the original sport springs that were included in the sale (there's way too many speed bumps where I live and work) Should re-raise the car by around 20mm, and maybe I could then refit the lip spoiler. Replacing the brake fluid and doing an oil service when it's dry.

Couple of issues so far -
Windscreen and headlight washers ain't working so I'm going to clean out the reservoir and filters when the rain stops.
Roof doesn't lock into place when it's opened. Switch light flashes red when I set off. I have to give it a push to engage the locks. Will give the pivot points a lube and see if it's folding correctly when I can.

I live in South Wales and work in Oxfordshire during the week. I've already got the car booked in with a BMW specialist in Swansea to give the car a good going over. I've tried to attach some images so hopefully that'll work. If anyone has any advice of the roof issue or iPhone connection please let me know.

Thanks

I am fitting to my M the modified tv tuner which provides CarPlay to the oem screen. To me, that is the most elegant solution available. The latest unit I purchased also has the rear camera functionality.

Supplier is carphonics. You can find my build thread on my 3.0si when I had that.

Also, do you have a link to your thread? I'll check it out.

I can see why you aren't sure about the ride height for daily driving! I'm not sure about the wheels, but they might look better in Shadow Chrome or even Silver maybe? Good to see an old style form sticker in the screen though!

Clogged filters on the washer pumps is a common problem on BMWs. I've had to clean them on an E46 and an E86. After I did I only ever used one brand of screen-wash and never had an issue again.

Yeah, it's just too low... I love the look of the black wheels. My issue is where I live in Wales, the car bottoms out on every speed bump. Not just the small plastic mud flaps, but the metal work underneath drags on them all. Same for where I work in Oxfordshire, rear end scrapes on all the bumps. Even if I creep over them. Leaving work is the worst... It makes a horrendous sound over the speed dumps. So refitted the OEM sports springs are my only option I reckon as I don't want to damage the underside of the car.
