Hiya,

In the market as of next week for a 3.0si convertible either manual or automatic.

Not too fussed on mileage as long as there’s some history with the car. I’m ok with a project if require although budget permitting.

Looking for heated seats as a minimum spec, as well as not being silver or plain black (ruby/sapphire is ok).

Budget 4-5k pending condition/spec.

Thanks!

Moose

Hi and welcome to the forum Moose.

You may need to be patient, or lucky, as according to this database compiled by a forum member only 963 3.0Si Roadsters found their way to the UK, but good luck with your search.

Welcome.
Bad news: 3.0si tend to hold their prices as they are the next best thing to an 'M'. (Unless you are a true connoisseur, in which case the Alpina is the one to have :poke: )
Good news: All E85 are convertible (unless the roof is broken) :)

I think I may be waiting a while unless I compromise on colour preference, will have to see what’s around next week!

Sapphire is the most common black. It’s metallic, but not tinted like Ruby black (red) or Carbon black (blue). If you’re happy with that, then you’ll have a reasonable choice, as Sapphire was the most common 3.0Si roadster colour. If not, then there were only ever around 350 cars in the UK not Sapphire or some kind of silver/grey, less 20 years of attrition.

I’m definitely going to have to lower my expectations then! Thanks for the info!

Updated thread title to include "manual and 3.0i"

Still on the hunt for a non black/silver 3.0l with Heated Seats etc

Opening up my search for an M54 as well as an N52, so if anyone has either of these they are looking to move on in the above spec please let me know!

My prior car is now sold so cash waiting.

I’m selling a black one unfortunately 🫤 This one I spotted on Facebook has a bit going for it I think and not miles away from you too. Good luck finding one.

Been looking at this, ran a vcheck earlier and its CAT N unfortunately, its also up on the forum somewhere as well.

Not sure where my budget would be for a categorised vehicle as was ideally looking for a clean title.

I have a Cat N car. Straight from the yard. Although mine is a 2.5, it came with full service history, Michelin's all round, xenon lights and heated seats. N52 too.

The damage was a dent in the rear bumper (solved for £50).

£1450 + fees. Why be fussy?

Im not being fussy if the price reflects that. Going rate for the 3L's seems to be around the 3-4k mark by the looks of it however im not entirely sure what the price range is for a CAT N vehicle with similar spec etc.

Willing to bet that the reason it won't start is because it's empty.

Has heated sport seats, xenons (judging by washer jets) and needs a bumper. Nice shade of blue too

That could be a good buy at the right price with such minimal damage. But it may not have Xenons as all 3 litre facelifts had headlamp washers.

Once cars get towards 20 years old it doesn't take much to make them a Cat N. My 2005 3 Series got a tap in the rear in 2023 and only needed a rear bumper cover due to some tiny cracks and scuffing, but the insurer of the guy who hit me made it a Cat N. I suppose it saved them paying for a hire car while it was repaired.
