E85 3.0i Manual

As per my other thread, I'm looking to use a 3.0i as a base for my next track car project.

My budget is £4k firm, as I'm not necessarily looking for some kind of show queen or low-miler/garage-stored example. Ideally I'd like to spend less than this, so that I can put some of that cash towards nice things like an LSD.

What I am looking for (pretty basic requirements, I hope):
- Must be manual
- Must have working and watertight hood, or be priced accordingly
- Ideally below 100k miles, or be priced accordingly
- Must have some evidence of recent maintenance, or be priced accordingly
- No major body damage (e.g. big scratches, dents)
- No major issues with cooling system or oil leaks, unless priced accordingly
- Must have an MOT

Stuff I don't care about:
- Life left in suspension/tyres/brakes, as long as it's safe enough to get me home
- Condition of steering wheel or seats
- Modifications or aftermarket bits

I'm also in the process of selling my Mini Cooper S (R53, Supercharged), which is my current track/weekend car. If you fancied a part-ex or swap deal, you can read about it here: https://www.minitorque.com/threads/basic-r53-to-occasional-track-car.206169/
(Mods, if that's not allowed, please let me know)

Feel free to reply here or DM me if you're selling.

Once restrictions are lifted a bit you're welcome to try mine... the only requirement it doesnt meet is the mileage, but thats reflected in the price. Engine still feels strong, no oil leaks, no cooling problems. It would leave plenty of room in your budget for upgrades.

Thanks Brillo.

There's something about a car with that mileage that makes me a bit uneasy about thrashing it on track. I know the M54 is an ace engine, but I don't want to have big ends and piston rings in the back of my mind.

I guess a compression test might help to ease my anxiety...

For those who asked for more info, I've written a For Sale ad for my car.
