E85 3.0 remap done.

After searching for info and not finding anything conclusive I went ahead and had one done. Thought I'd share the results to help anyone thinking of doing it. It wasn't a rolling road, just a plug in style remap. They said they would look at my map and custom tune it. But it could have just been a standard map for all I know(when I asked he said it wasn't). The results are good, they had a return to standard no charge policy if you were not satisfied. It now picks up earlier and pulls better. Its not a massive increase but it is there. I spent the 2 days previous booting it around in sport mode to get a feel for it. Basically it now feels like being in sport all the time but with noticeable torque. Sport is now rapid as. It was 250 for the remap, if I'm honest I wouldn't hand over that much for it for the increase but they offered a pay over 4 installments so it was appealing. Mpg has suffered a little bit but obviously power comes with that. Not too bad tho. Overall opinion : if you can afford one get one, the car feels a bit faster and better than it did before.

Thanks for the honest review but it seems like quite an expensive marginal gain to me.
Well done for coughing up the dough for that!

FWIW I spent €1200 for a headphone amp which was exactly the same spec as one I already have but differentiated by having a volume knob instead of vol up down buttons. Intended to sell the push button one but ended up keeping both. Expensive marginal gain.

Sounds like something I'd do! I never found any actual "after" stories regarding so thought I'd put mine up. It does improve the car, it's purely whether you have the spare cash. They claimed 10bhp and 10 nm increase. Obviously without a dyno I can't verify, but it is more powerful lower down the revs and more satisfying to drive. Engine is on 58k. Hope this helps someone considering it.
