my exhaust has just started blowing, took it to a mechanic friend who put it on his ramp (see pic) , and it is blowing on the right hand side.
looks like the studs are welded in so will need drilling out - is this something that is straightforward to do, and can it be done in situ ?

any tips or advice welcome :)

UPDATE - after going to a couple of local exhaust centres and not even being able to get on their ramps, was advised to try Kwik Fit Lodge road in Southampton as they had a pit.
popped in this morning, they said they would have a look, told me what I already knew (studs needed drilling out), the fitter said he`d give it a go - 15 minutes later all done - new bolts , quiet exhaust and NO CHARGE as it was `easy`
Now a happy bunny (and so is my other half)

Studs are a press fit in from the engine side, they have a flat head and small splines to locate them. However, they are a PIG to drill out as I found out when doing mine. I ended up using the recip saw to cut them almost flush, before piercing a hole right through the centre of them with the plasma cutter. The heat generated and the subsequent hole through the middle allowed me to punch them straight out. I replaced with M8 stainless bolts, washers and double lock nuts.

Seems a common problem, had the bolts drilled out and replaced mine were also pita of a job to remove.
